The Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), Japan is designed to transfer skills between developing countries to contribute towards their growth. Under this program, the Government of India has entered into an agreement to send skilled workers from India to work in Japan anywhere from one year to a maximum of 5 years and through On-the-Job Training (OJT). The skilled workers including nurses, shall work in the Japanese healthcare system, undergo internship training, and earn during this tenure. With these newly acquired skills, they can even come back to India and put those skills to good use, homecare is going to be considerably big in India itself in the coming times.
In November 2016, during our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's visit to Japan, an MoC was concluded on skill development and later in 2017, during Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to India, a bilateral Joint Statement was issued confirming the terms of the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP), Japan.
